THE LEADERS AND THEIR NEW DISTRACTIVE MEASURES.

Doubtless, in many countries of the world, leaders do renounce when
they lapsed or felt unable to execute the entrusted task. However, in
Nigeria it wasn't so. Whenever the leaders contravented or infringed,
instead they renounce or publicly seek apology and work towards
ensuring such didn't reoccured, they will cause a convulsive movement
or an attack on lives and properties, so as to divert or distract the
attention of people towards the contemporary incident. These types of
incidents, Nigerians had encountered or had a number of encounters
with them, not once or twice, but several times, to mention but a few
among them are:-

firstly, history cannot forget the April 2011 election and it
immidiate aftermath that led to the lost of hundreds of lives, and
properties that worth billions of Naira. The country was really
trembled from north to east, south to west, grievances raising from
all poles, hardly can one conclude that the country would not be in a
bitter civil war, however, God with His infinite mercy, that was
subdued. The leaders with their habitual mockery of setting committee,
set-up a committee under the chairmanship of Ahmad Lemu, to
investigate and report the causes of the pre and post election strife,
the committee in it report reommended viable remedies and warned the
leaders against the possibilities of revolution in the country if at
all measures were not taken. Did they acted on the report? Knowing
that they are the root cause of the calamity and can't seek for
apology talkless of renouncing, they now devised a way of distracting
and diverting peoples' attention by presenting the issue of
constitution ammendment which will enable the president to have a one
seven years tenure in office, was that the problem of Nigerians by
then? That was just a measure aimed to distract and divert attentions.

Secondly, when the level of insecurity hit almost every corner of the
country, and it reached a certain extent that kidnappers, armed
robbers, MEND and Boko Haram were carrying out their activities at any
cost, in another hand intense pressures by people on insecurity was
too much on the leaders and they can't confront and tackle the massive
challenges, what they did in distracting and diverting peoples'
attention was the implementation of the removal of fuel subsidy.

Thirdly, is the recent fuel subsidy embezzlement scandal, after the
ad-hoc committee of Faruk Lawan had presented it report, the leaders
were adamant on adopting and recommending it, civil society groups and
some famous personalities in the country intensified allegations on
them and threaten to renew their protest, the leaders then plotted
ways to distract and divert attentions, firstly, they tried to
obfuscate the report that one failed. Secondly, they connive with some
hoodlums to protest against the subsidy scandal, unfortunately, that
one also failed, lastly, they instructed the hoodlums to start
attacking lives and properties.

Since the leaders have tried all these, and yet no lasting solution
was drived from it, why not they change their attitudes and bring an
end to this slap on their faces? Act rightly and be free!
